Chatham Holds Its First Ever Pride Event

CHATHAM — Dozens of people came out Thursday to attend the village’s first LGBTQ+ Pride event.
The event was hosted by the Queer & Trans Connection Network, a Chatham and Hudson-based LGBTQ+ community organization that provides substance-free spaces for members of the community to meet and interact, which is run by the Columbia-Greene Addiction Coalition.
“We are trying to provide a space outside of the bar scene for people under 21, for people who are in recovery, for people who are not looking to necessarily use substances, but are still looking for queer community,” Columbia-Greene Addiction Coalition Youth Coordinator and Queer & Trans Connection Network founder Toby Boris-Schacter, said Thursday.
