Meet the Team
Hannah Calhoun
Executive Director
Hannah holds a BA in Psychology from Buffalo State College and brings over a decade of nonprofit experience. A lifelong Chatham resident, she has deep roots in the community and like so many, has lost friends and loved ones to substance use.
Hannah began her career by volunteering and interning with various charities and nonprofits that supported individuals facing challenges such as food insecurity, immigration, homelessness, and domestic violence.
Hannah held positions in Foster Care and Residential Treatment before transitioning to preventive services as Director of the Youth Advocacy Program. In 2022, Hannah joined CGAC as Project Director, and the rest is history.
Hannah is passionate about involving creative processes to enhance program development, outreach and community mobilization efforts. This includes designing logos, print and digital ads. Hannah is an established public speaker, presenter and community educator.
Hannah serves as a Private Sector Board Member for Greene County Community Action in addition to having served on the Opioid Settlement Workgroup for nearly two years.
Claire Cousin
Assistant Director
Claire is a passionate community organizer and dedicated social justice advocate with a strong focus on youth development and empowerment. A mother of three, Claire has been instrumental in creating programs that support young people in her community.
Born and raised in Hudson, Claire made history as the first Black woman elected to her county legislature, where she championed policies for affordable housing and worked tirelessly to create a more equitable community. She is a fierce advocate for justice, with a particular focus on prison reform and the fight against systemic racism.
Claire's extensive experience includes serving as Vice Chair of the Hudson Housing Authority, Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Hudson/Catskill Housing Coalition, and as a member of the Columbia County Board of Supervisors. She currently serves on the board of ReEntry Columbia, continuing her work to support those affected by incarceration and systemic inequities.
Motivated by the loss of a close friend to the preventable harms of Substance Use Disorder (SUD), Claire is deeply committed to addressing addiction's impact on communities, especially those with limited resources. Her personal and professional dedication fuels her ongoing advocacy for change and healing.
